Rolling Stone Italia has ranked Ljubljana's Grounded among 15 best summertime music festivals. The festival, which is dedicated to electronic music, critical thinking and activism, joined the likes of Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Sziget and Flow Festival.

The Italian edition of the popular magazine, which focuses on music, politics, and popular culture, lauded the remarkable selection of musicians performing at Grounded.

Ranked 14th, the festival was described as "the future of club music".

"There you can find a legit underground of electronic music and global club trends. Do not get discouraged if you don't know any of the names on the list - some will have fewer followers on Instagram than your mum, but the essence is to dance up the future," Rolling Stone Italia said.

The 8th Grounded will take place in the Slovenian capital between 22 and 24 August. This year's discussion focus will be on racism, particularly anti-Palestinian racism and decolonial resistance, the organisers say.

The masterminds of the music part of the festival, which revolves around new-gen, post-club or experimental electronic music, are producers and musicians Nina Hudej and Nina Kodrič aka NinaBelle.

Performing under the stage name Warrego Valles, the duo is part of the team that founded the Ljubljana bar and cultural hub Pritličje, known for its progressive events.

In the past seven years, Hudej and Kodrič have brought to Ljubljana more than a hundred trend-setting artists from all around the world, paving the way for women and queer artists in particular.

Grounded has seen performers such as London-based singer and DJ Shygirl, Berlin-based DJ LSDXOXO and American-Ukrainian duo Sha Ru.
