Pay in Slovenia higher in 2015 in nominal and real terms
Gross pay edged up by 0.7% nominally and was 1.2% higher in real terms in 2015. Net pay was higher by 0.4% and 0.9%, respectively.
Net pay grew both in private and public sectors, by 0.3% to EUR 935.78 and by 0.8% to EUR 1,161.88 respectively.
Pay was the highest in the energy sector (EUR 1,438.10), and the lowest in administrative and support service activities (EUR 704.55).
The highest increase was recorded in financial and insurance activities and in manufacturing (by 1.8% in each), and the highest drop in mining (-5.8%).
At the level of regions, Central Slovenia had the best earners (EUR 1,099.23) and the lowest in Zasavje (EUR 914.36 evra). Salaries increased in all regions but in Zasavje.
On the monthly level, average gross pay stood at EUR 1,594.93 in December and the net pay was at EUR 1,035.58, which is down both in nominal and real terms due to the bulk of yearly bonuses paid out in November.
Gross pay dropped by 5% nominally and by 4,6% in real terms, while net pay was down by 4.3% and 3.9%, respectively. In the public sector, the pay edged down by 0.2%, while in the private sector the drop was more significant (-6.8%).
