Flag carrier Adria Airways is launching a new link to Cologne in Germany on 26 April, operating three scheduled flights a week. Adria will also fly to 19 other destinations under the new timetable.

One of those is Warsaw, where six scheduled flights a week are also operated by the Polish carrier Lot as of 1 March. The other foreign airlines will keep their winter destinations also during summer.

Marking the 10th anniversary since it first established air traffic with Slovenia, Turkish Airlines is increasing the number of its weekly flights to Istanbul to 14 from 10, according to the airport operator.

Aerodroma Ljubljana also announced the arrival of the Greek carrier Aegean Airlines, which will operate two scheduled flights a week to Athens as of 15 June.

Passengers from the Jože Pučnik Ljubljana Airport can also fly Air Serbia to Belgrade on 14 flights a week, Air France on daily flights to Paris or low cost carriers Easyjet and Wizz Air to London.

Esyjet operates daily flights to Stansted Airport and Wizz Air flies four times a week to Luton. The Hungarian low-cost carrier will also operate two weekly flights to Brussels Charleroi airport.

Montenegro Airlines will be linking Ljubljana with Montenegro's capital Podgorica six times a week.

While the number of scheduled flights is increasing from last year, the airport expects the number of charter flights to remain roughly the same this summer with seven carriers to fly to 21 destinations.

The operator of Slovenia's largest airport, Aerodrom Ljubljana, saw 1.4 million passengers last year, generating a new profit of EUR 3.3m. It has been a moderate growth in passenger transport this year.
