Summer in Kranj will be marked by street art and Banksy
The display, dubbed Banksy, thank you for the flowers, will present over 50 of Banksy's works.
The works have been lent to the art centre for four months by a private Slovenian collector, said Zala Vidali, who is responsible for the art programme at Layer House.
"The artist will probably not attend, but perhaps he will but we will not know," she added.
The collection of Banksy's works includes the doors of a Vienna music club with his graffiti, numerous original graphics, record covers, posters and stickers.
The accompanying programme will feature photo exhibitions, urban street interventions, music events, an independent film festival and guided tours. In Kranj's historic core, regional and national street art will be presented.
Banksy's work grew out of the Bristol underground scene, which involved collaborations between artists and musicians. His art combines satire, dark humour and political and social commentary.
Banksy's first film, Exit Through the Gift Shop, was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2011. Banksy was also awarded Person of the Year at the 2014 Webby Awards.
Despite having his work displayed at some of the most prestigious art exhibitions, Banksy still remains faithful to his primary role of a street artist, Layer House says on its web site.
The exhibition will be open between 31 May and 28 September as part of Layer House's four-month cultural programme dubbed Layer, thank you for the flowers.
