Krka still top of Slovenia's exporters
Each of the four sold over a billion euros' worth of goods abroad.
The top four are followed by the Russian-owned steel group SIJ, aluminium producer Impol, industrial group Kolektor, aluminium producer Talum, the Italian-owned synthetic fibres manufacturer Julon and castings specialist LTH Castings.
Based on a survey among almost 500 exporters, Delo also compiled a list of exporters which opened most new jobs last year. It is headed by Boxmark Leather, the Austrian-owned car upholstery manufacturer, which employed 395 new workers, followed by Gorenje (288) and Lek (222).
Krka saw its revenue abroad decline by 3% last year despite higher volume sales, which the company blames on price erosion and currencies volatility. Gorenje was another of the 34 companies on the top 140 list which reported lower exports compared to 2014. Gorenje saw a 2% drop in sales revenue abroad.
Meanwhile, eight of the 30 largest exporters recorded double-digit growth. One such was Revoz, which expanded its exports by 22% last year to over a billion euros. The company topped the exporters' list between 1993 and 2010 before seeing a decline in sales. Its exports have been up again since 2013.
Six companies on the list sell their entire output abroad (over 99.5%). The biggest of them, Julon, sold 90% of its EUR 213m worth of exports to Italy last year. LTH Castings sold EUR 203m worth of goods abroad, of which 60% to Germany.
