Adria Airways scraps flights to Stockholm and Cologne

The news was confirmed for the STA by the Ljubljana airport operator Aerodrom Ljubljana on Monday.

Adria Airways told the online edition of business daily Finance that both destinations would be covered through its broader network of flights. The passengers who have already bought tickets for Cologne or Stockholm would be served through the broader network or refunded.

The carrier said that the remaining flights planned from Ljubljana according to the summer schedule would remain unchanged. The only exception is Brussels where passenger transport is yet to be fully established in the wake of the 22 March terrorist attacks.

Between late March and late October, Adria Airways operates scheduled flights to Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Vienna, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, London, Manchester, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Podgorica, Prague, Prishtina, Sarajevo, Skopje, Warsaw and Zurich. It also plans charter flights.

Adria Airways passed into majority ownership of the German 4K Invest fund in mid-March. The new board member, now chairman Arno Schuster, at the time announced a reconsideration on the flights network but no drastic change. "We want growth with the exiting network and want to make it more efficient," he said.
