Advertising Festival marking 25th anniversary

The organisers say the two-day festival will offer "exceptional stories which have and will continue to survive".

The event will also feature 38 speakers who will participate in a total of 20 lectures, workshops, round tables and other events.

Awards for best marketing campaigns, most promising young advertisers, most successful brand and the agency of the year will be conferred as part of the festival.

Irena Setinšek of market research agency Mediana said that last year on the media and advertising market will be remembered for a slight injection of optimism after years of contractioin.

The agency registered 13% growth in the value of advertising compared to 2014, at EUR 886m, with television dominating the market with a 77% share.

The value of advertising on TV stations in Slovenia last year stood at EUR 684m, up 16% compared to the year before. Commercial broadcaster Pro Plus, which operates POP TV and Kanal A channels, accounted for more than half of the total sum.

Overall value of advertising in printed media stood at around EUR 100m, which is an 8% drop compared to 2014. The value of advertising on the internet was up by 2% to EUR 34.5m.
