Radovljica transforming into city of chocolate this weekend
The giant chocolate of 130-140 square metres will be presented by chocolatier Cukrček, which plans to exceed the existing Guinness world record by 30 square metres.
After the official measurements are made, every visitor will have the opportunity to taste the historic dessert.
Chocolate lovers will also have a chance to learn all about the making of chocolate at a chocolate factory.
A competition for the best chocolate flavour will be organised for innovative chocolate products such as the chocolate pizza and praline with juniper.
A charity event will also be organised in cooperation with Red Noses, a group of performers dressed up as clowns that do regular rounds at hospitals to cheer up children and facilitate their recovery.
This year, the increasingly popular Chocolade Festival will spread from its central venue of Linhartov trg square to locations around the town, and a special museum train will be organised for visitors from Ljubljana.
The market of chocolate will be open until 8 PM offering chocolate tasting, while the festival programme will continue until 10 PM.
The organisers expect more than 50 chocolatiers, 10 more than last year, including from outside Slovenia.
Last year, some 50,000 people attended the festival, taking place from Friday to Sunday.
