Projected to win gold medals at the upcoming games are whitewater canoeist Benjamin Savšek, canoeing pair Luka Božič/Sašo Taljat and judoka Tina Trstenjak, who recently won the European championship in the 63 kg category.

Judoka Ana Velenšek has meanwhile been projected to win bronze in the 78 kg category.

With three golds and one bronze, Slovenia is 28th on the projected list of medal winners at the Rio Olympics. The US is in the first place with 102 medals, followed by China (78) and Russia (66).
