ManuElla, who had said when leaving for Stockholm that her first goal was the finals, was competing agianst another 17 hopefuls from countries like Latvia, Poland, Israel, Serbia, Australia, Denmark and Belgium in the sing-off for the ten spots that lead to the grand finale.

ManuElla, the stage name of 27-year-old Manuela Brečko, launched her career in 2005 on the Slovenian talent show Battle of Talents. Five years later, she made it among the top 100 in the German talent show Das Supertalent.

Last year, Slovenia's entrant - husband-wife duo Maraaya managed to get to the grand finale, but their electro-pop tune Here for You finished 14th.
