The technology behind the speed was developed by the NGV, which came up with the software that efficiently controls the four hermetically sealed motors in the longboard's wheels and prevents it from overheating.

Nextboard, or a longboard for the next generation as the NGV labelled it, has a range of 15 kilometres, while batteries take an hour to recharge.

The technology that the startup will present to the automotive industry at the Day of Green Mobility in Idrija on Friday can easily be transferred to other vehicles, said the longboard's lead engineer and designer Tone Gorup.

In November, extreme skateboarder Mischo Erban set the world speed record on an electric longboard with the Nextboard at the Portorož Airport. In a test session, he reached 102.9 kilometres an hour, while the official score was at 95.83 kilometres an hour, according to the NGV website.
