Next week, international drill Adriatic Strike will be held in the country.

The Ramstein Guard exercise will take place at the Gotenica training grounds in the east, the Vrhnika military barracks and in the air space above central, southern and south-eastern Slovenia up to 4,000 metres high.

Army planes will be in the air between 9 AM and noon and between 2 PM and 5 PM, according to the web site of the Slovenian Armed Forces.

Between 6 and 11 June, Slovenia will for the fifth year in a row host the Adriatic Strike, at which the Slovenian Armed Forces and other allies will conduct training of Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC).

Some 600 participants are expected, including 350 members of foreign armed forces.

The training of JTACs will take place at six locations across the country, including the main training ground of the Slovenian army in Postojna.

For security reasons, Slovenia's air space will be temporarily closed between 9 AM and noon, 2 PM and 5 PM and between 7 PM and 11 PM.

Members of the Slovenian army will meanwhile take part in a drill to be hosted by Poland from Thursday until 17 July. The Anaconda 2016 exercise is to be attended by over 30,000 troops from 24 countries.
