Male joblessness was down 0.6 pp to 10.5% in April over March, and female unemployment edged down 0.3 pp to 12.7%.

The rate fell across all statistical regions, with the highest drop registered in the NE region of Pomurje - it was down by one percentage point to 17.5%.

A total of 105,453 people were registered as unemployed at the end of April, which is 4.3% down from March and 8.2% lower year-on-year.

The number of people in employment increased by 0.6% at the monthly and by 1.4% at the yearly level to 813,886, the Statistics Office said on Thursday.
