The biggest Slovenian bean and garlic producer builds on a cutting-edge environment friendly production method.

Apart from the two flagship products, Panorganic, which is owned by Mario Kurtović, also grows blue huckleberries, strawberries and goji berries.

Last year, it launched its new product, a lettuce that reaches its consumers in a pot, still growing.

The company owns a one-hectare high-tech greenhouse in Ljutomer and plans to build another in neighbouring Austria by the end of the year.

According to Niko Miholič of the company, Panorganic plans to become a leading fruit and vegetable producer of central Europe by 2020.

The jury conferring the award for the most successful young entrepreneurs found Panorganic to be a future-oriented company that exceeds its local environment and is looking for markets all over Europe.

While finding a business opportunity in a classic branch, Panorganic's approach is new and proactive and thus opens many opportunities, the jury said.

Panorganic was selected the winner among five finalists also because of its revenue growth.

The award is conferred by Young Entrepreneur, an institute promoting entrepreneurship among the young.
