Lace makers from around the world to take over Ljubljana

Visitors will thus be able to see first-hand how lace is being made around the world.

The event dubbed Lace on the Street is promoting the three-day World Lace Congress of the OIDFA, the International Organization for Bobbin and Needle Lace, starting on Friday.

The work of 700 lace makers from Slovenia and 300 from abroad will be presented in Prešernov trg square, the Three Bridges and Stritarjeva ulica street between 6 PM and 9 PM.

The event will be accompanied by performances of the brass band of the Idrija Miners' Association and majorettes of Sevnica.

Mayor Zoran Janković will address the event and host OIDFA officials ahead of the congress, which is to be attended by lace makers from 37 countries.
