The aim is to improve transparency and accountability in the public sector, Public Administration Minister Boris Koprivnikar told the press on Wednesday.

The application, showing gross wages, offers detailed data that Koprivnikar said would be a valuable tool for everyone interested in the details of public sector wages.

The purpose is not to provide details about individuals' wages, it is to provide insight into wages by individual public sector bodies and posts, he said.

Koprivnikar framed the launch of the application in terms of the government's commitment to transparency and open data, which he said would reduce the possibility of "unwanted practices".
