Slovenia's carbon emissions down a tenth in 2014
The energy sector is the biggest polluter accounting for 31.1% of total CO2 emissions, but its emissions also dropped the most, by 23.2%.
Households, which account for a fifth of total emissions, decreased their emissions by almost a tenth.
On the other hand, emissions rose in the transportation and storage sector, which accounts for almost 28% of total emissions, and in manufacturing.
Decreases were also recorder in the emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx), which were down almost 11% year-on-year to just over 48,000 tonnes.
Emissions of PM10 particles, one of the main factors determining air quality, likewise dropped by almost 11%, to slightly over 15,000 tonnes.
While transport is the main source of NOx emissions, households are the main source of PM10 emissions.
