The 17-year-old Garnbret was the best at her very first World Championships in the senior competition after winning almost everything that could be won in the junior competitions.
It is the second gold medal for Slovenia in climbing at the World Championships and the first in last 15 years after Martina Čufar won gold in Winterthur in 2001.
It was a Slovenian evening in Paris, as the veteran Mina Markovič secured the bronze medal, after sharing the first place with Garnbret in the qualifications.
