Company described that  as a springboard for new contracts in infrastructural projects in other parts of the world.

In a written statement, Iskratel said the deal was struck at InnoTrans Berlin 2016, the world's largest rail industry event, running between 20 and 23 September in the German capital.

The three-year contract for the maintenance of GSM-R on the 212-kilometre section of high-speed railway between Polatli and Konya was signed with the Turkish railways TCDD through Yapi Merkezi.

The company said the signing was also due to the successful implementation of the GSM-R project for Slovenian railways operator Slovenske železnice.

At the Berlin fair, Iskratel also signed a letter of understanding with the Russian railway institute JSC RZD NIIAS designed to strengthen cooperation in the development of new products and solutions for railways.

Iskratel said the accord would enable the partners' joint participation in infrastructural projects in the Russian market as well as in the countries where JSC RZD NIIAS and its parent company JSC Russian Railways work on infrastructural projects in railway construction and modernisation.
