Slovenia gets new art academy
What is now called the Art Academy of the University of Nova Gorica will maintain the study programmes offered by the School of Arts and continue the school's long history of exploring new forms and art education methods, academy director Rene Rusjan told the press on Monday.
A bachelor's programme in digital arts and practices and a master's programme in media arts and practices will be offered.
The academy will enrol 15 students in the bachelor's programme and ten in the master's programme each year. Both programmes are already full for the coming academic year.
The Nova Gorica Art Academy is based in the centre of Gorizia, Nova Gorica's twin town across the Slovenian-Italian border.
This provides a close connection between the two countries, enabling students to take part in various ways of collaboration and international exchange programmes.
The Nova Gorica School of Arts was established in 2008 and began operating a year later.
