The postage stamp bears an image of Trstenjak designed by Borut Bončina and will be issued on Friday. The stamp will cost EUR 1.26, while Celje's postal service will also issue a special postmark on the occasion.

Since Slovenia's independence, Pošta Slovenije has honoured all of the country's Olympic gold medallists, including rower Iztok Čop, skier Tina Maze and hammer thrower Primož Kozmus.

Celje Mayor Bojan Šrot gave judo coach Marjan Fabjan, who trained Trstenjak, a collection of special stamps on the occasion.

Trstenjak won the gold medal in the women's 63kg category at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro by defeating Clarissa Agbegnenou of France in the finals.
