After years of efforts, Slovenian has finally joined more than 20 other foreign languages taught as mother tongue in public primary schools in Vienna, the Education Ministry said in a press release on Friday.

The course is being held on Wednesday afternoons in the Stubenbastei primary school in the centre of Vienna. The ten pupils that currently attend the course are coming from various other schools in the city.

The course was opened in cooperation between the Slovenian ministries of education and foreign affairs and the relevant education institutions in Austria, the press release says.
