The Žalec-based Novem Car Interior Design, which manufactures wooden interior trim for luxury cars and is part of the Germany group Novem, was picked in the Best Employer category.

The size of the workforce at the Slovenian subsidiary is about 450 and is expected to shortly increase by 110 due to a new project that was also backed with EUR 500,000 by the government. The company generated EUR 63m in sales revenue in 2014, mostly on foreign markets.

Austrian-owned Rosenbauer was honoured for its long-standing presence in Slovenia, as it has been operating in the northeastern region of Pomurje for 15 years already.

The company, which recorded an 11% workforce increase in 2015, exports 99.37% of its products. It generated EUR 8.6m in sales revenue and a profit of EUR 1.44m last year. The added value per employee is around EUR 45,000.

Leykam tiskarna, also Austrain-owned and part of the Leykam Let's print group that generates around EUR 225.5m in annual turnover, convinced the jury with its stellar results.

Established in Hoče (NE) in 1994, the company can boast EUR 90,000 in added value per employee, and a 15% rise in the number of employees between 2014 and 2015. It generates 85% of its revenue on foreign markets.

Glovis Europe in Koper meanwhile received the award for logistics centre/hub. It was honoured for pursuing the government's programme guidelines for furthering internationalisation in the 2015-2020 period and its contribution to positioning Slovenia as a logistic hub.

The Koper subsidiary of the Glovis group, owned by the South Korean multinational Hyundai, takes care of the entire logistics for goods heading from South Korea to Central Europe. In 2015 it recorded EUR 70m in sales revenue and EUR 3.5m in operating profit.

All four recipients of this year's Invest Slovenia FDI Award have a A1++ credit rating, SPIRIT pointed out.
