Hidria plans to focus on electric vehicles and hybrids in the future, and set up a new green mobility centre in Koper.

CEO Iztok Seljak said the group expected EUR 26m in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) this year.

Hidria continues to invest heavily in R&D, EUR 10-15m a year, and Seljak noted they planned to turn this into more than EUR 300m in annual sales revenue in the next four years.

Along with the green mobility centre in Koper, which the company is setting up together with partners from the Slovenian automotive cluster, Hidria is also teaming up with foreign companies in an attempt to electrify the Ljubljana-Zagreb-Belgrade-Skopje motorway as part of the Green Balkanica project.

The group's innovation extends beyond consumer products in the automotive industry and premium motorcycles, and includes technologies for industrial production processes.

Through its development in the last years, the conglomerate has become a key developer and supplier of motorcycle frames for premium labels and parts for steering systems for premium car makers, Seljak stressed.

Andrej Velec, the general manager of Hidria's motorcycle subsidiary Mototec, announced that along with BMW and Ducati, with which the company was already working on a regular basis, it was now adding KTM to the list of big motorcycle makers it supplies.

According to Velec, Mototec's great advantage is that they combine the production line from welding to coating on a single location.
