Tina Maze shares her secret of success on film
A collaboration between Maze and skiing demonstrator Sandi Murovec, 7toHEAVEN (7doUSPEHA)! is a sequel to The Edge! in which the pair divulged some of the secrets of Maze's skiing technique.
Intended as a teaching tool for both professionals and amateur skiers, the 45-minute film shows seven technical details which Maze and Murovec say are key to perfect skiing curves.
Speaking at last night's premiere at the Kranj Cineplexx cinemas, Maze said that it was not an autobiographical film, but indicated one such could follow soon.
"I have been at the starting line many times, but this is my first film premiere, so you will imagine how I feel," Maze said in an interview with Radio Slovenija before the screening.
The event attracted visitors from Slovenia and abroad, including sports officials and Andrea Massi, the head of Maze's team and her life companion, who also appears on the film.
The film comes after Maze decided to retire from professional sports. She will officially wrap up her career at the Golden Fox World Cup meet in Maribor on 7 January.
"I'm doing some training so that I should be able to show something," said Maze in reference to her final career appearance at the Golden Fox giant slalom race.
But she will not give up skiing: "Skiing is even more heavenly now because I'm no longer restricted by poles and I have absolute freedom to do curves wherever I want."
