After finishing second at the same hill on Saturday, Prevc set the hill's record at 144 metres in the first series today, raising hopes high ahead of the prestigious Four Hills Tournament.

Last year the tournament was won by his elder brother Peter, who dominated the previous ski jumping season, but has been struggling this year, placing 33th at today's event.

With jumps of 144 and 141.5 metres today, Domen Prevc scored 305.9 points, 12.1 points more than runner-up Kamil Stoch of Poland (143.5 and 141.5m). Austria's Stefan Kraft was third (138.5 and 138m, 283.1 pts).

"I've pulled off a very good jump today, but I wasn't very successful with the second one. The take off didn't come off quite well enough," the 17-year-old commented on his latest achievement.

"It's others speaking about my being a favourite for the Four Hills tournament, I'm the same guy I've always been," he said modestly.

Prevc's team mate Jurij Tepeš placed 27th and his younger brother Cene Prevc finished 29th.

With the latest win, Domen Prevc extended his overall World Cup lead to 540 points, ahead of Norway's Daniel Andre Tande in second at 382.

The World Cup circuit will continue with the first leg of the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf in Germany on 30 December, to be preceded by qualifications on 29 December.
