Ljubljana hosting collector's fair Collecta
Visitors will be able to buy and exchange postcards, stamps, money, comics, old books and other collectables.
Among other things, the fair also features an exhibition on art on postcards and stamps and an auction of old books and prints. A special workshop for collector beginners will also be held.
To mark the 300th anniversary of the foundation of the world's first Grand Lodge - the Grand Lodge of England in 1717 - the fair will also showcase the history of Freemasonry, especially on the Slovenian and Yugoslav soil.
The Slovenian Numismatic Cabinet will display the Masonic heritage with rare exhibits; a larger exhibition dubbed Secret Lodges is currently on show at the National Museum.
Every year, Collecta issues its own philatelic collectables and a postmark, created especially for the occasion. This year, the fair will honour the 100th anniversary of the first Slovenian picture book, Martin Krpan.
The national postal company Pošta Slovenije will take this opportunity to present the stamps they issued this month, four of them belonging to the flora series and one to the tourism and another to the mammal fossils in Slovenia series.
