Figures disclosed on Friday in a report by German group Fraport show a 23.9% increase in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) to EUR 14.5m. Operating profit more than doubled to EUR 4.4m.

According to the report, 1.4 million passengers went through the airport last year, which is 2.3% down from 2015. On the other hand, cargo volumes rose by 2.4% to 10,379 metric tonnes.

Fraport forecast a rise of traffic in the mid single-digit range this year.

Aerodrom Ljubljana will soon be renamed Fraport Slovenija, as the government allowed on Thursday the use of name Slovenija in the company's name.

Fraport became the sole owner of Aerodrom in March 2015.
