Construction of 5-star hotel in Ljubljana nearing completion
The hotel, which is receiving its final touches, is expected to start receiving guests on 15 August, while the official opening ceremony is scheduled for the end of September.
Its general director Miloš Cerović told the STA that the investment, executed by the Serbian Delta Holding, comes as the tourist boom in the capital is continuing and appropriate accommodation is missing for high-end guests.
Ljubljana's Intercontinental, built in only a year and a half, will expand over 23,000 square metres, and include a swimming pool, a wellness centre, and a Michelin star chef-run restaurant of an open type accommodating around 200 guests on the top floor.
The hotel will also focus on congress tourism. It has five congress halls, the biggest suitable for around 300 people.
There a few more hotels planned in Ljubljana, including in the direct proximity of the Intercontinental. Cerović thinks this is good as it will help promote Ljubljana on the global tourism map.
