Paper calls for reform to prepare Slovenian economy for crisis
The Slovenian economy is doing great. Almost all indicators show it is in full swing. But what grows must eventually fall. Nobody knows when the next crisis will come or where it will originate. This is an ideal time to ask ourselves how to live even better.
Which taxes can be cut to increase net wages? There is no reason the state should take so much from the people.
Is it right that we are still paying higher VAT? Germany and Austria did not raise it during the crisis.
Could we at least talk about a cap on social contributions? Should we really pay a new mandatory insurance for long-term care? This means more money for healthcare, where huge amounts of money disappear.
"Are there any politicians willing to stand up for people having more money left after paying their taxes. I'm not talking about five euro more, I'm talking about 200 euro more for the average wage. I think this should be the main topic of the next election campaign," the daily "Finance" says.
