The most overnight stays among foreign tourists were generated by Germans (14% or 317,000), followed by Italians (14%), Dutch (10%), Austrians (6%), French (5%) and Hungarians (5%).

Out of the total number of overnight stays, almost 1.1 million or 38% were generated in hotels, around 21% in camps, 17% in apartment buildings, 6% in private rooms, apartments and houses and 5% in youth hostels.

Almost a million or 35% of overnight stays were generated in mountain municipalities, followed by coastal municipalities (21%), spa municipalities (16%) and the municipality of Ljubljana (14%).
