Daily "Dnevnik" sceptical of 5G security declaration

"It is good to know what we signed. The Americans do not expect their allies to support them when they are doing things right.... They expect allies to back them when they are doing things wrong. That way responsibility is shared by the entire coalition," the paper says in Made for China.

The commentator likens the signing of the statement to the Vilnius Declaration in the run-up to the occupation of Iraq, and Slovenia joining the alliance for Afghanistan.

"The price of that was not too high. The only price for the alliance is the hatred with which we reject Iraqis, Afghanis and other citizens of attacked countries who come to the border fleeing our wars and their consequences."

"One would hope that the confrontation with China will be just as cheap, but things may get complicated. Turn over any item in your home, and it always says the same on the bottom. The phone is made in China. The charging cable as well ... The surgical face mask that you need to go to the store is Chinese. All computers in the house are made in China.

"Alas, all the computers run American software. OSX on Apple computers, Windows on PCs, Android and OSX on phones are all made in two American cities and send all my data to three American intelligence agencies and ten private American corporations. The Chinese work, but the Americans know. That is why the Americans are the masters. This is how the world is made.

"But the way it is made is that those who work seize the master's knowledge and become the masters themselves. The Chinese know everything about us and yet we still have no clue about them. This is why we sign that they are our opponent and we are an American ally. Trusting the Americans to do right in this war is possible only with blind faith in divine mercy. It is, however, not patriotic."
