The award handed out for the 21st time by the business magazine Podjetnik and the Slovenian Chamber of Trade Crafts and Small Business (OZS) went to a man who turned a small family-run workshop into a global business, according to a press release from OZS.

The award jury said that Sifrar proved he had courage and a vision in developing the seemingly unglamorous business of casting plastic caps, tubes and containers into a successful company exporting to 41 countries worldwide.

Among other things, SIBO G supplies plastic products to pharmaceutical companies as the most demanding buyers, the jury added.

SIBO G developed a special tube closure for toothpastes of global giant GlaxoSmithKlein, which is its biggest buyer, according to a March article in Podjetnik.

The award ceremony was addressed by president of the National Council Blaz Kavcic, who said that the award was the proof that there was a healthy core in Slovenian economy capable of creating top-quality products and services. "This is the reflection of Slovenia's intellect, hard work, innovativeness and - of course - courage."
