FM appointed representative for cooperation with the European Parliament
Brdo pri Kranju - The government has appointed Foreign Minister Anže Logar the high representative for cooperation with the European Parliament for the duration of Slovenia's EU presidency.
Logar will thus represent the EU Council in dealings with the European Parliament and is in charge of cooperating with the Parliament at plenaries as a representative of the member state presiding the Council, the Government Communication Office said after a government session on Wednesday.
Among other things, the representative may represent the high representative for foreign affairs and security policy and also frequently represents the president of the European Council, mostly in discussions about preparations for sessions of the European Council.
The government also appointed today Katja Lautar state secretary at the Finance Ministry. The current head of the Economic and Fiscal Policy Directorate will take over at the new post on 1 May.
