Pahor starting two-day visit to Luxembourg
Luxembourg - President Borut Pahor is starting a two-day working visit to Luxembourg on Sunday to meet several senior officials, including Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, and Grand Duke Henri. The visit is designed to intensify political dialogue and cooperation, Pahor's office said before the visit.
Pahor will meet today Prime Minister Bettel, and Jean-Claude Juncker, a former president of the European Commission and prime minister.
On Monday, he will meet Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn and parliamentary Speaker Fernand Etgen.
He will be then be received by Grand Duke Henri at Grand Ducal Palace, where Jean-Paul Carteron, the founder and chairman of the Crans Montana Forum, will hand him a charter making him the co-chair of the honorary committee of the forum's World Diplomatic Academy.
Pahor's office said the visit aims to deepen political dialogue and cooperation between Slovenia and Luxembourg in bilateral, EU and multilateral relations.
The last highest-level visit between the two countries took place in 2001 when Grand Duke Henri was on official visit in Slovenia, the office added.
