Tuesday's daily coronavirus count down 17% week-on-week
Ljubljana - A total of 1,526 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Slovenia on Tuesday, a daily drop of nearly 11% and a weekly drop of 17%, show the figures the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) released on Wednesday. The 14-day incidence per 100,000 population dropped below 1,000. Government data shows eight Covid-19 patients died.
There are now 804 Covid-19 patients in hospitals, 13 fewer than yesterday, of whom 231 are in intensive care, down by 4, according to government data.
NIJZ estimates that there are now 20,631 active cases in the country, down by 5,335 from last week and by 731 from Monday.
The 7-day average of new cases decreased by 45 to 1,307 in a day, and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 people dropped below 1,000 - by 34 to 979.
Almost 26% of all PCR tests came back positive yesterday, a weekly drop of around 2 percentage points.
