Record weekend Covid case count confirmed on Saturday
Ljubljana - A total of 6,012 people tested positive for coronavirus in Slovenia on Saturday in what is a record daily case count confirmed over the weekend since the start of the pandemic, show fresh official data.
The latest Covid figures are quite an increase on Saturday a week ago, when more than 3,000 infections were logged.
Hospitalisations stood at 549 this morning, up by 35 on the day before. The total of ICU cases remained level at 156. One Covid-19 patient died on Saturday, the government said.
The estimated number of active cases has increased to 66,777 people, according to the National Institute of Public Health.
The 7-day average of daily cases increased by 383 to 6,029 and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 population is up by 246 to 3,152.
Nearly 10,300 PCR tests and over 75,700 rapid antigen tests were performed yesterday. The PCR test positivity rate stood at 58%.
