Slovenia upgrades travel advice for Ukraine
Ljubljana - The Slovenian Foreign Ministry advises Slovenian citizens not to travel to Ukraine's areas on the border with Russia and Belarus in a travel advice upgraded due to growing tensions on the Ukraine-Russia border.
"Due to the unpredictable situation, we advise against travel to border areas with Belarus and the Russian Federation," says a positing on the ministry's website.
Slovenian citizens planning to go to Ukraine are advised to follow security-related developments in international and local media, and postings by the Slovenian embassy in Kyiv.
Earlier this week, the ministry advised against travel to the temporarily occupied areas of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, and certain parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk, saying the embassy cannot provide consular assistance to those who might encounter difficulties there.
