Ljubljana - Slovenia's job market saw a record 22,900 vacancies in the final quarter of 2021 as the number of occupied posts hit 792,100, another all-time high, shows fresh data from the Statistics Office.

The job vacancy rate in the fourth quarter was 2.8%, flat with the quarter before, but up by 1.2 percentage points from the fourth quarter of 2020.

As many as 10,000 more job vacancies were reported between October and December 2021 as in the same period a year earlier, of which roughly 6,700 by employers employing ten or more people.

What stood out was a five-fold increase in vacancies in the hospitality sector. Only the water supply and waste management sector reported fewer vacancies.

Year-on-year, 21,700 more filled posts were reported, of which 19,100 by employers with 10 or more employees. The number of filled jobs in manufacturing was up by about 6,300.

Only the financial and insurance industry; real estate; professional, scientific and technical activities; administrative and support service activities; and arts and entertainment sector saw a drop in the number of posts occupied.
