Ljubljana - A total of 4,716 people tested positive for coronavirus in Slovenia on Tuesday, only two thirds of the case count the day before and 7% down from the bank holiday a week ago.

According to the National Institute of Public Health, the 14-day incidence per 100,000 fell by 923 to 5,517 and the seven-day average of new cases declined by 57 to 6,658.

Hospital data keeps improving with government data as of this morning showing 529 patients are hospitalised with Covid as their main condition, including 110 in intensive care. This is down by 12 and four, respectively.

This was after another 15 patients infected with coronavirus died yesterday.

In all, 911 infected patients are being treated in hospitals, 32 fewer than yesterday.

An estimated 116,437 people are actively infected in the country.

The latest infections were picked from 2,368 PCR tests and 79,503 fast antigen tests.
