Business sentiment remains upbeat

Ljubljana - Business sentiment in Slovenia keeps improving with the latest official data showing the respective indicator rising by 1.2 percentage points in a month and by 10.01 points in a year to hit 6.8 percentage points in February.

According to the Statistics Office, the monthly increase was driven by stronger consumer confidence (+0.6 points) and optimism in services (+0.5 points) and manufacturing (+0.2 points).

The retail and construction industries had a negative impact with each of the respective sub-indicators decreasing by 0.1 points from the month before.

Year-on-year, sentiment improved most in services (+5.5 points), followed by manufacturing (+2.2 points), retail sales (+1.6 points) and construction (+0.9 points).

Consumer confidence did not affect the business sentiment index at the annual level.
