Novo Mesto - TPV Automotive, a Novo Mesto-based automotive supplier, is recruiting more staff at all its plants. By the end of the year, they will have recruited a significant number of new employees, the company said on Wednesday. The new hires will be made in several towns and villages in eastern and south-eastern Slovenia.

New jobs at TPV Automotive have opened up due to the development of breakthrough projects, said the company in a press release. In addition to production workers, they are also looking for highly skilled professionals from a wide range of fields, including engineering, IT, robotics and logistics.

The recruitment is already under way and the company will onboard the new hires at its plants in Brežice, Velika Loka near Trebnje and Suhor near Metlika.

At the end of last year, TPV Automotive started mass production of ultra-light steel components for the latest generation of BMW vehicles at its plant in Brežice. It also stepped up their production capacity when it comes to aluminium components. One of their key such products is the battery case for Volvo electric vehicles.

According to the company's CEO, Ivan Erend, the outlook for the future is also good. "I'm pleased that we've managed to overcome the extremely unfavourable economic situation of recent years," he added.

TPV Automotive is considered by car manufacturers "as one of the biggest specialists in lightweight concept", the press release notes.

The company was granted a EUR 6.5 million incentive for a project in Brežice under the previous, Marjan Šarec government, and the Janez Janša government included it in its development programme plan for 2020-2023.

According to government documents, the government will also subsidise an additional TPV plant in Brežice, which will be included in the 2022-2025 development programme plan.

The investment is worth EUR 31 million and will ensure the retention of 750 employees. Under the deal, the company is expected to employ a minimum of 982 workers by 30 June 2025 at the latest.

TPV Automotive exports its products to more than 25 countries on every continent in the world. It is a member of the TPV Group, which has been operating for 30 years at five sites in Slovenia and one in Serbia, reads the company's website.
