Epidemic keeps growing with 3,041 Covid cases on Wednesday
Ljubljana - The epidemic curve has been on the upward slope in Slovenia for nearly two weeks now with 3,041 coronavirus cases logged on Wednesday. The latest case count is up by almost a third on the same day a week ago. Hospitalisations continued to decrease.
Hospitalisations due to Covid-19 totalled 185 this morning, down by 23 on the day before, including 49 patients who required intensive care, down by six. An additional three people with Covid died, according to the government.
The 7-day average of new cases increased by 107 to 2,361 and the 14-day notification rate per 100,000 of the population is at 1,408, up by 57 in daily comparison, shows data by the National Institute of Public Health.
The institute estimates there are currently 29,868 active infections in the country, an increase of some 1,200 on the day before.
The latest infections have been picked up from 1,939 PCR tests and 13,166 rapid antigen tests.
