Govt extends cap on Covid test prices
Ljubljana - The government adopted on Tuesday an amendment to the regulation on setting maximum prices for rapid antigen testing services and maximum prices for Covid self-tests to extend the capped prices until the end of June.
On 5 November last year, the government capped the price of a rapid antigen test at EUR 7 and the price of a self-test that people use at home themselves at EUR 2.50, without VAT.
The regulation was due to expire on 4 May, but has now been extended until 30 June under a decision adopted at yesterday's correspondence session, said the Government Communications Office.
The Health Ministry noted that in line with the current Covid measures and rules the Covid pass remains in place in certain institutions, such as hospitals and care homes, and rapid tests are still used to pick up new coronavirus infections, so the government decided to extend the capped prices.
