Ljubljana - In line with recommendations from its expert advisory group, the government decided to lift the Covid pass mandate for visitors of hospitals and social care institutions. The face mask requirement remains in place.

The decision was made because of the favourable epidemiological situation and the characteristics of the Omicron variant of coronavirus, the government said.

Still, experts had recommended that the use of face masks remains obligatory indoors in health and social institutions. Hand sanitising also remains obligatory.

The government lifted the Covid pass mandate for health and social care workers and the requirement to wear masks at pharmacies last Saturday.
