Four Japanese films to be screened in Ljubljana

Ljubljana - A screening of Iwane: Sword of Serenity will kick-start the Summer Days of Japanese Film, a mini festival of four contemporary films organised this week by Kino Bežigrad cinema and the Japanese Embassy. Tickets are available free of charge for all four films, which will be screened at Kino Bežigrad at 3:30pm until Friday.

Today's film Iwane: Sword of Serenity is a 2019 samurai drama directed by Katsuhide Motoki, which will be followed on Tuesday by A Beautiful Star, a sci-fi movie directed by Daihachi Yoshida in 2017.

The series will continue on Thursday with Almost a Miracle, a 2019 drama by Yuya Ishii about a secondary school kid who does not like school but unconditionally loves everyone. The film is based on Yuki Ando's manga comic of the same name.

The closing film on Friday will be Banana? At This Time of Night? - a 2018 film by Tetsu Maeda about a 34-year-old man suffering from muscular dystrophy. While his hands and neck are the only parts of the body he can more, he decides to live an independent life.
