Ljubljana - Slovenia confirmed 941 new cases of coronavirus over the weekend, an increase of more than 40% over the previous weekend. One patient with Covid-19 died during the weekend.

There are currently 45 patients at regular wards hospitalised with Covid as their primary condition and another eight in intensive care.

This compares just 23 patients a week ago and nine in intensive care, shows data by the Health Ministry.

The seven-day average of daily cases has hit 1,229, whereas the 14-day case notification rate stands at 694, up by more than 200 on the week before, according to the National Institute of Public Health.
