Kinodvor showing selection of latest Korean films
Ljubljana - The annual Korean Film Week is opening at Ljubljana Kinodvor cinema theatre on Tuesday, organised by the South Korean Embassy in Vienna. A total of five films of different genres will be screened until Sunday.
The mini festival will get under way with the screening of Hostage: Missing Celebrity, a remake of the Chinese hit Saving Mr. Wu, starring the acclaimed South Korean actor Hwang Jung-min as himself.
On Wednesday, it will see Special Delivery, which reunites Park So-dam and child actor Jeong Hyeon-jun, who appeared in the Oscar-winner Parasite.
The Miracle, Jang-Hoon Lee's film based on a true story about a high-school student leading an effort for his roadless countryside town to get a train station, will be screened on Friday.
The next day, Kids Are Fine, Lee Ji-Won's feature debut based on a webtoon that shows life situations through a child's eyes, will be shown as part of the children's programme Kinobalon.
The week will wrap up with Korean Breakfast at Kinodvor in the morning featuring Kingmaker, a political drama that focuses on the complicated relationship between the candidate and his special political advisor who works from the shadows. This film is based on true events and individuals.
All the films will have English and Slovenian subtitles.
