Belgrade - The Slovenian play Solo has won one of the two Grand Prix at Bitef, a major Serbian theatre festival. The three-way co-production was described as a "passionate and unique exploration of fundamental issues concerning contemporary theatre."

The jury described it as a "thrilling and risky journey through self-exploration, conflict, memories, scenes, songs and myths that lead us through various theatrical spaces and forms and conclude with a celebration honouring connectedness and our human imperfection."

Performed by Nina Rajić Kranjac, Nataša Keser, Benjamin Krnetić and Marko Mandić, Solo is a co-production of the Mladinsko Theatre, Nova Pošta and Maska.

Mladinsko Theatre describes the show as "a meeting of the director and the actors in improvisation" revolving around the question of what it means to be alone.

The play premiered in Slovenia in August 2021 and the actors themselves as listed as directors.

The second Grand Prix went to the Belgian dance show Any Attempt Will End in Crushed Bodies and Shattered Bones directed by Jan Martens.
