The Slovenia Times portal and brand have been acquired by the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) in agreement with its previous owner. The STA has long sought to move beyond its core, subscriber-only English news wire to share its reporting with a broader audience interested in English-language news about Slovenia. We think that The Slovenia Times, an established brand with a loyal readership, is an ideal place to do that.

The Slovenia Times has long relied on the STA English Service for most of its prime content. We plan to build on that and produce additional content about the issues that make this country tick as well as human interest stories that go beyond politics and policy. The result, we hope, will be a news product that informs and entertains, a window into Slovenian society.

The Slovenia Times will also be the place for content that the STA has previously published on its InsideSlovenia.si, a site which was launched before the opportunity arose to acquire The Slovenia Times. InsideSlovenia.si has been wound down, but its content lives on at The Slovenia Times.
